Wrapping Up April...

We've been wanting to fly kites with the boys for a long time.  One Sunday afternoon after trying out a new church, it was the perfect day for it.

After a lot of running around in the sun, Brody declared he was too hot for his shirt.  Shortly after this picture was taken, I declared we were done based off of everyone's mood.  Brent was tired, Brody was hot and Ben was done chasing Brent's kite over the baseball fields fence and lighting.  It was a lot of fun though!

We went to meet MaJ & PaJ in Bowling Green, KY for a long weekend.  We discovered a place called "Double Dogs" to eat.  We loved it so much we went back the next day too!
They serve the kids meals in dog dishes.

We toured a Historic Railway Museum.

We went to Nashville because MaJ wanted us all to experience "Honky Tonkin."  This first picture taken started Brent & Brody on a search for figures all along the street where they insisted we stop and take their pictures.

PaJ loved carrying Josie girl.  She got a lot of attention and Grandpa loved showing her off.

On our way back to the Hotel from Nashville, we happened to stop at a Cracker Barrel for a late supper.  Look who we ran into.... MAGDA!!

All the kids wanted to sit with Grandpa.

We decided to take the Introductory Tour at Mammoth Cave.

Brody insisted on holding Josie's hand.  MaJ was accommodating.

We took a short stroll around downtown Bowling Green.

Stopped and ate dinner at "Toots" based solely on its name.  The boys loved the games.

April Fun.

We are attempting to make the most of our time before Ben leaves us for such a long time in just a few short months.

This is how we found the boys entertaining Josie one afternoon.

Josie eating Rice Cereal for the first time.  She learned very quickly to open her mouth and she loves it.

Not far down the road from us, there is a secluded drive to get to the river.  Ben took the boys one afternoon while Josie & I went grocery shopping.  They had so much fun and came back soaked and still talk about going back.

Our pool has officially opened for the season.  The boys were so excited that it was time to bring it out and put some water in it.

Ben has been busy at work these days preparing for deployment. He came home for lunch and ended up taking a quick nap when he laid down with Josie for a few minutes.

Brody is always putting on Ben's boots and marching around saying "I'm Daddy, I'm Daddy." I heard him one day saying this and I went to see what he was up to.  I found him in Ben's socks.

Easter weekend was celebrated in Destin, FL with a 4 day weekend getaway.  We ended up all feeling like it was a REAL vacation and none of us wanted to leave.  Brody even offered up the plan of letting Daddy go home by himself and he could come back and get us later when we said that we had to leave because Daddy had to go back to work.  It was a great weekend!

We arrived at the Army Recreation Campground in Destin and started to unpack.  The boys discovered their Buzz wings that the Easter Bunny had told us to give them on Easter morning.  Oh well, guess next time we'll have to do a better job of hiding!

After setting up camp, we immediately went to check out the pool, splashpark and swimming in the bay.

The Walker's were camping in Panama City so we decided to meet them for dinner at SanDestin.

The boys took a ride on the MerryGoRound after dinner.

Breakfast in the Scamp.  Brought back memories of eating breakfast myself as a kid camping.

We spent the day in Panama City on the beach where the Walkers were camping.

Easter morning we decided to get up extra early to attend the Sunrise Easter Service on the beach.  It was chilly but beautiful and the service was a great message.

When we got back to the campground after breakfast, the Easter Bunny had come by to hide eggs.

On the way home we discussed what our favorite part of the weekend was and we all answered time on the beach.  Easter Sunday afternoon spent on the beach as a family was the BEST.

After the day at the beach we all went for a swim in the pool.  This was Josie's first time in a pool.  She liked it but got cold really fast so she wasn't in very long.

We then went to an amazingly good dinner and by the time we got back to the camper, we were all ready to pass out.
It was such a great trip that we have decided to do a Beach Camping Trip again in June. We love it.

We've had some great weather here so we decided to go for a bike ride at Callaway Gardens.
We had a picnic and stopped at the butterfly exhibit.
It was a nice way to spend the day.

The Milwaukee Brewers came to Atlanta so we decided to go to the game.

We really did watch the game but it seemed most of the time was spent getting something to eat or drink for the boys.  They were in awe of the people walking around us selling yummy things.  Brent was so happy to get some Cotton Candy.  We decided to let Josie try a little.

The Brewers lost the game but it was a fun first Baseball game for the kids.

Brody is always asking to hold Josie and as soon as you put her in his arms he tells you to take a picture.  I've gone to just pretending rather than running to grab the camera every time but here a couple cute ones.
