A Day in the Park

It was nearly 80 degrees so we decided we must spend it outside.  We headed to Flat Rock Park, did a little jogging with the strollers and then let the boys play...for almost 3 hours!

What is it about Boys & Sticks?
Brent "helped" Brody down the hill... by pulling him.

 We climbed a tree.
Brent kept discovering mazes, so he thinks.

We watched the water and the rocks the boys threw into it.
 Josie slept the ENTIRE time.
Brent wanted to have a "picnic" every stop we made.
Brent took this picture of me doing what I do best these days... eating.
 Brent's attempt to Rock Climb.
 Brody's attempt.
Brent made it to the top.
As we were getting into the car, guess who woke up...

It was a great afternoon. Wish they could all be like today!

January - Almost All About Josie Girl

As I go through the pictures we took this past month, I realize that there just aren't many of Brent.  That's not because he's been forgotten as one of our children since Josie came along, it's just because he's usually up to his own thing these days.  I'll try to get more shots of Brent in the coming weeks.

The boys often play together while I attempt to get something done around the house or when I'm busy with Josie.  On this particular morning they were playing so nice, for so long, that I was surprised when I finally checked on them that the room wasn't more trashed.  I like how they were playing cribbage with pickup sticks.

Josie finally outgrew the sink in our bathroom and moved up to bathtime with her brothers.  They both fought over who could hold her and who got to dump water on her face first.

Brody asks almost nightly if Josie could please sleep in bed with him.

Ben has started another class towards his degree.  Four more to go.  He's doing great and of course has an A so far.

Brody was so proud one evening when the neighbor kids all were out on their scooters.  He ran into the garage to get his and was excited to show them how he could ride it and that his wheels lit up.

A sweet friend of mine from PWOC Bible Study gave Brody this Power Wheels so he could have one to drive on his own since he's always the passenger when riding with Brent.  So nice she thought of us!  Brody immediately cleaned it and put his cup in the cupholder as if to claim it as his own.

Like her brothers, Josie believes that outside is some sort of "magicland" at this age.  If she's upset, walk out the door and she's a whole new girl.

I'm starting to get the hang of dressing a girl!!

Ben was out in the field for 2 weeks and Josie was so happy the morning she found him back in our room.

Another month down... where is the time going????
